I was inspired by the most iconic image of "Little" Edie Beale from the 1975 documentary classic, 'Grey Gardens,' standing in front of her dilapidated family estate. I loved the displaced feel to her expression and her furs, something that had the worn sheen of a time and place that had fallen into disrepair. I found some vintage thrift store pieces as well as a vibrant polyester button down shirt that belonged to my grandmother, and set up my tripod in a lonely patch of woods and weeds.
